IFFI 2020: Taapsee Pannu-Bhumi Pednekar's Saand Ki Aankh to open film festival; Sushant Singh Rajput's Chhichhore to be screened too

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has been postponed to 2021. The annual film festival which was scheduled to begin on November 20 in Goa, will now be held from January 16-24, 2021. With less than a month to go, Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar released the list of 20 non-feature and 23 feature films which will be screened at the nine-day film festival. 

The three Hindi films to be screened at IFFI are Aavartan, Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu's Saand Ki Aankh and Sushant Singh Rajput-Shraddha Kapoor's Chhichhore. Apart from them, feature films like Vetri Maaran's Asuran (Tamil), Mukhammed Musthafa's Kappela (Malayalam), Nila Madhab Panda’s Oriya language film Kalira Atita and Govind Nihalani’s Up, Up & Up will be screened. The 12-member feature film jury was headed by filmmaker, screenwriter and producer, John Mathew Matthan.

Gujarati film titled Paanchika by Ankit Kothari will be the opening non-feature film. The non-feature film jury was headed by acclaimed feature and documentary filmmaker Haobam Paban Kumar.
