The much-awaited Golden Globe Awards 2021 is inching closer. Now, as the prestigious award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles in January 2021, the list of foreign films to be screened has been released. This year will be a special one for the South film industry as not just one but three films will be screened in LA.
Suriya's critically acclaimed film Soorarai Pottru will be screened at the Golden Globe 2021. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film skipped a theatrical release and premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Co-starring Aparna Balamurali, Soorarai Pottru is based on the life of Captain Gopinath.

On the other hand, Dhanush's Asuran has also been selected to be screened at the International awards event. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the Tamil film is based on Poomani’s novel Vekkai. One of the biggest hits of 2019, Asuran has 4 National Film Awards among several others.
The Malayalam film, Jallikattu, has also been selected to be screened at Golden Globe Awards 2021. The 2019 film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery stars Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Santhy Balachandran. Jallikattu is India's official entry to Oscars 2021.
Coming to Bollywood, Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior will also be screened at Golden Globe Awards 2021. Directed by Om Raut, the film was this year's only biggest theatrical blockbuster. It also starred Kajol and Sharad Kelkar in important roles.
Other Indian films to be screened at the Golden Globe Awards 2021 include Ludo, Eeb Allay Ooo, Harami, Just Like That and Trees Under The Sun.
