Actress and COVID-19 frontline warrior Shikha Malhotra recently suffered a stroke and paralysis on the right side of her body. Shikha, who featured with Shah Rukh Khan in the film Fan, tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in October while serving as a nurse at a hospital in Mumbai. Now, days after suffering a stroke, Shikha spoke to a leading daily about her health.
Still in the hospital, the actress that her health is improving but the process is slow. Shikha added that she isn't sure when she'll be able to walk again. "My health is improving but the process is slow. I’m not sure when I will be able to walk again," she told the daily.
Shikha further added that she can't stop thinking about her film Kaanchli's release as not many people are aware of it. She requested everyone to watch the film and support her. "I am helpless with my body but my heart gets elated when I think of my film Kaanchli in which I have played the lead role. However, not many people are aware of its release. I am going through a tough phase in my life and I need everyone’s support. I am passionate about my work and I just need a little push from the audience," Shikha said.
Shikha, a graduate from Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Safrdarjung Hospital, volunteered to work as a nurse amid the COVID-19. On March 25, she shared pictures in PPE kit from a hospital and wrote, "For those who don’t know that I am a #Registered #BscHonoursNurse from Vardhaman Mahavir Medical & #SafdarjungHospital Spending my 5 years...so sharing a glance of my working hours in the hospitalSo as you all have always appreciated my efforts my achievements this time need all of your support to #serve the #nation once againand this time I’ve Decided to join the hospital in #mumbai for #covid19 #crisis .Always there to serve the country as a #Nurse as a #entertainer wherever however I can need your blessingsplease be at home be safeand support the government. Shikha had said her mother, a COVID warrior, inspired her to do her bit for society.
