The entire rights of Salman Khan's next Eid offering Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai has been sold to Zee. According to reports, Zee has bought the worldwide theatrical, digital, satellite and music rights of the Prabhu Deva directorial at the whopping price of 240 crores making it the biggest deal finalised post-lockdown. The agreement is believed to have been more or less locked with only the formality awaiting the completion.
The deal was apparently finalized just a couple of days back in a meeting held between Salman and Punit Goenka, the CEO at Zee Entertainment Enterprises. "It's a reasonable deal that has led to a table profit for Salman whereas Zee, too, doesn’t have much risk involved given that Salman’s films command a great return value in terms of digital and satellite viewing side by side music streaming on various platforms," a source aware of the development said to Bollywood Hungama.
Interestingly, Yash Raj Films was earlier supposed to release Radhe theatrically across the world on commission basis but that deal seems to have been expired after the film got delayed by a year. Zee is said to be starting a new partnership with Salman and his production company with this expensive deal. “It’s a blanket deal, and a beginning of partnership for the two. Salman’s production, Kaagaz featuring Pankaj Tripathi, too, is seeing a premiere on Zee’s streaming platform. He also has a multi-film satellite deal with Zee Network and his last 3 releases – Race 3, Bharat and Dabangg 3 – saw the world television premiere on Zee Cinema,” the source further said.
Remake of the 2017 Korean Film, The Outlaws, Radhe also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff. The film's principal shooting has been completed and is currently under the post-production. Billed as one of the most-anticipated Bollywood release of this year, the action thriller is scheduled to release in cinemas on Eid weekend 2021!
