Shahid Kapoor recently wrapped the shoot of his upcoming film Jersey. While the actor is gearing up for his digital debut with a web series directed by Raj & DK, he made an appeal to be cast in a film where he can 'dance' and have 'fun'. Well, yes! In an open invitation to filmmakers, the 39-year-old actor revealed that his wife, Mira Rajput, 'fired' him for not doing a light-hearted film.
Sharing an open invitation on his Instagram stories, Shahid wrote, "My wife has fired me about how I am not doing a film which is fun and where I dance. Open invitation pl gimme something that allows me to please her. . #typecast hero in need !! @mira.kapoor I am committed to the cause."
Reacting to the same, Mira, on her Instagram stories, wrote, "Unbelievable"
Workwise, Shahid was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Kabir Singh in 2019. He completed the shoot of Jersey, the Hindi remake of a hit Telugu film of the same name. It is directed by Gowtam Tinnamuri and also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. Sharing a picture from the cricket ground, Shahid wrote, "It’s a film wrap on #jersey .... 47 days of shoot during covid. Just unbelievable. I am so proud of the entire team. It’s nothing short of a miracle. I want to thank each and every one from the unit for coming to set every day, putting themselves at risk and doing what we all love doing. Telling stories that touch hearts and make a difference. Jersey is a story that speaks of a Phoenix rising from the ashes. The triumph of an indomitable spirit. If there was ever a time I could connect with the underlying spirit of a film this was it. As we all fight through this pandemic. Let’s always remember. This shall pass too. Here’s to my best filmmaking experience yet. Here’s to Jersey ... we shall overcome !!!!"
