Sonu Sood reacts to BMC's claim of being a 'habitual offender' for carrying out illegal construction, says 'I will obey all laws and regulations'

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), a few days ago, issued a notice to Sonu Sood for allegedly carrying out structural changes to a residential building in Juhu without permission. In an affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court, the civil body termed him as a ‘habitual offender’ for allegedly and illegally converting a residential building into a hotel despite two demolitions. Now, Sonu has reacted to BMC's claim. Talking to a publication, the actor told that he has followed all the rules from his end and will try to correct it if there is a scope for improvement. He said that he will obey all the laws and regulations.

"I respect the BMC, who have made our Mumbai 'amazing'. I have followed all the rules from my side and if there is a scope for improvement, I will try to correct it. I have filed a petition for the case in the court. I will sincerely follow the instructions given by the court and walk on the same path. I will obey all laws and regulations," Sonu told.

The affidavit was filed by BMC after Sonu challenged a notice against him in October and an order passed by a civil court in December 2020. The affidavit read, "Bollywood actor Sonu Sood is a habitual offender who kept on carrying out unauthorised construction work in a residential building in suburban Juhu despite demolition action initiated on two occasions in the past. The appellant is a habitual offender and wants to enjoy the commercial proceeds of the unauthorised work and therefore once again started reconstructing the demolished portion in order to make it operational as a hotel albeit illegally and without permission from the License department. The appellant has not been given permission for change of user of the said property from residential to commercial and there is no license to run the commercial hotel."
