Angira Dhar exits Avinash Tiwary's 'Dongri To Dubai' due to a date clash with Ajay Devgn's 'Mayday', Kritika Kamra steps in for Haseena Parkar's role?

Angira Dhar, who was all set to play Avinash Tiwary's sister Haseena Parkar in Dongri To Dubai,  has apparently exited the show due to a date clash with Ajay Devgn's Mayday. Kritika Kamra, who was last seen in Amazon Prime's Tandav, is now said to play Haseena Parkar in the web series.

With the pandemic having played havoc with the schedules of many actors, the cast of the Shujaat Saudagar-directed web series has undergone a crucial change. “Angira has to report to the set of Ajay Devgn’s directorial venture Mayday now. Since the makers of Dongri to Dubai required the same dates, the actor, after much deliberation, decided to let go of the series,” revealed a source.

Kritika has been brought on board the underworld drama that is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book of the same name. The source added, “After a fresh set of auditions, the makers zeroed in on Kritika. It’s an important character that influences the proceedings, and demands a strong performer.”

The web series is based on the book Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia, and chronicles the rise of Dawood Ibrahim. Rebuilding the set from scratch will be an unforeseen additional expense.
