Punjabi actor turned activist, Deep Sidhu, has been arrested by a special cell of the Delhi police today for allegedly instigating violence during the tractor rally on Republic Day. Deep, after the incident, went missing and several teams of the Delhi Police's crime branch were reportedly searching for him after many protesting farmers accused him of playing an important role in the violence that took place outside Red Fort.
Deep, on his Facebook account, would post videos. According to ANI, he was in contact with his friend in California. The female friend would upload the videos on his Facebook account so that the police could not trace his current IP address.

The Delhi police had reportedly announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on Deep, Jugraj Singh, Gurjot Singh and Gurjant Singh. Cash reward of Rs 50,000 was declared for Buta Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Jajbir Singh and Iqbal Singh for allegedly instigating protesters.
After going into hiding, Deep released a video on Facebook where he was venting anger against farmer unions and Punjabis for calling him a traitor.
