Late filmmaker Raj Kapoor's youngest son, Rajiv Kapoor, breathed his last. Rajiv, who was Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor's brother, suffered a cardiac arrest when he was with his family members for a meeting. Randhir and Rishi's son Ranbir Kapoor were with Rajiv. The 58-year-old, better known as Chimpu, complained of pain at around 12:20 pm and was taken to Inlaks General Hospital at 12:57 pm where he was declared dead.
A source from the hospital told, "Mr. Rajiv Kapoor was brought by his family members at the time of admission he was unconscious and pulse were missing. He had reported of uneasiness and severe pain in the left side of his shoulder. After examining by the resident doctors he was declared dead. After completing the procedure his body has been hand over to his family." The news was confirmed by Rajiv's sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor. Sharing a picture on Instagram, Neetu wrote, "RIP "
Rajiv is best remembered for his performance in Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) and Ek Jaan Hain Hum (1983). He directed the film Prem Granth starring Rishi in the lead.
