Priyanka Chopra Jonas has spoken about the struggles she had to face in her career initially in her memoir, Unfinished. Penned by the global star, the memoir was made available to the public on February 9. Priyanka, in Unfinished, wrote about several uncomfortable and unpleasant moments. She penned an incident when she had to do a seductive song for a big-budget film. Priyanka shared that it was a long song, around 4 minutes, and she asked the director if it would be smart for her to have lots of layers to take off so that she wouldn't be "down to skin way too fast".
Priyanka further shared that the director wanted her panties to be seen. "The director suggested I speak to my stylist, so I called him and briefly explained the situation, then passed the phone to the director. Standing right in front of me, the director said: "Jo bhi ho, chaddiyan dikhni chahiyen. Nahi toh log picture kyon dekhne aayenge?" which translates as "whatever happens, panties should be seen. Otherwise, why would people come to watch the movie?" Priyanka shared.
Priyanka stated that she left the film the next day. The global actress added that she was aware of the seductive song and was ready for it as it was the demand of the film. "I was ready to go full-out as a temptress in the number. The director's words and tone, though, conveyed that he regarded me in a way that I found unacceptable," Priyanka wrote.
However, when the director found out that she had quit the project, he visited the set of another film featuring Priyanka and offered her a different film. It was Salman Khan who intervened on her behalf.
