Roohi Trailer: Janhvi Kapoor surprises as a bride-stealer ghost; Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma are hilarious as the grooms

After much wait, the trailer of Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma's Roohi has been released. The horror-comedy directed by Hardik Mehta is the second installment in the Stree franchise. Roohi was formerly titled RoohAfza which was changed to RoohiAfza and then Roohi Afzana.

Roohi is set in a fictional town of North India. Circumstances make Bhawra (Rajkummar) and Kattanni (Varun) share the same roof with a young girl named Roohi (Janhvi). However, there's more to it. Folklore suggests that a chudail (witch) with 'mudiyapairi' targets grooms and as they fall asleep, she abducts brides. In the trailer, we are then shown Roohi is possessed by a bride-stealer chudail. What follows next is a ride filled with spooky moments, jumpscares and hilarious one-liners. PS: Varun and Janhvi recreating Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's Palat scene from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge with a scary twist can't be missed!

Roohi is presented by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan. It is produced by Dinesh under his banner A Maddock Films along with Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. The film will release in theatres on March 11, 2021.
