Breaking! Income Tax dept reportedly conducts raids at Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl's residences

According to a leading news channel, the Income Tax department conducted raids at actress Taapsee Pannu and filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl's residences this morning.  Reportedly, the IT department is conducting searches on people who are related to Phantom Films for tax evasion.

Phantom Films was owned by Anurag, Vikas, Vikram Motwane and Madhu Mantena. Apart from Taapsee, Anurag and Vikas' residences, raids are reportedly being conducted in 20 other locations in Mumbai and Pune. Reportedly, Madhu is also under the IT department's scanner.

Phantom Films was founded by Anurag, Vikas, Vikramaditya and Madhu in 2011. Later, in 2015, Entertainment picked up a 50% stake in the production and distribution company. However, in 2018, when a former employee accused Vikas of sexual assault, the team decided not to work together. The filmmaker was then given a clean chit by an internal complaints committee of Reliance Entertainment.

In January this year, Madhu bought the shares of Anurag, Vikramaditya and Vikas in Phantom Films. Now the production house will be a joint venture between Madhu’s new company Mad Man Ventures and Reliance Entertainment.
