Kangana Ranaut wowed the audience today with the trailer of J Jayalalitha’s biopic Thalaivi. The actress who won her fourth National Film Awards last evening for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Panga attended the trailer launch event in Mumbai today of Thalaivi.
During, the launch event, she spoke about how uncanny it was for doing scenes with co-stars playing political opponents while she herself was facing political pressure from BMC and the state government in Mumbai. Thalaivi also stars Arvind Swami as MG Ramachandran, Prakash Raj as M Karunanidhi, Jisshu Sengupta as Sobhan Babu and Bhagyashree as Jayalalithaa’s mother Sandhya. Poorna and Madhoo play pivotal roles in the film.
The multi-lingual film is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh and co-produced by Hitesh Thakkar and Thirumal Reddy. It is directed by AL Vijay and penned by celebrated writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and will release in theatres on April 23, 2021 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
