Dulquer Salmaan stood true to his promise as he unveiled the highly-anticipated teaser of his upcoming film Kurup. Dulquer plays the role of Sukumara Kurup, India’s longest wanted fugitive. The film also stars Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead.
The crime drama revolves around Sukumara Kurup’s legendary crime, the murder of film representative Chacko and how his escape became a pop-culture phenomenon. The teaser shows that the police are on the lookout of one of the most wanted criminals. Indrajith Sukumaran is seen essaying the role of a cop who is investigating the case. We hear him give a brief about the case saying, “36 years, more than 300 tip-offs, over a thousand journeys, in search of just one man,” followed by a text stating, “this is the story of India’s longest wanted fugitive.”

The Srinath Rajendran directorial will be released in five languages – Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, and teaser were released in all the above mentioned languages. Kurup will also star actor Sunny Wayne, Manoj Bajpayee, Suresh Oberoi, Bharath Niwas and Shine Tom Chacko in pivotal roles.
The film is produced by Dulquer’s home banner. Wayfarer films and co-produced by M-star, the filming for the movie has taken place in multiple locations such as Dubai, Mangaluru and in the interiors of many north Indian states.
