On Tuesday night, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray announced a 15-day curfew in the state following which no shooting of films, television shows and ads can take place. The restrictions will be implemented from April 14 across Maharashtra from 8 PM. The Janta curfew has been announced owing to the surge in coronavirus cases. JD Majethia, the Chairman of Indian Films and Television Producers Council (IFTPC), has now commented on the situation and said that they are going to follow the order fully for now but will speak with CM soon.
"As of now we are going to abide by the restriction, but very soon we will approach them again. We are with him on this and we are going to go through the order fully once. The last time when he had announced the lockdown, we had a word with him and he understood our position. We consider ourselves as frontline workers as we provide entertainment to people who are sitting at home. We make people happy who are dealing with various issues, depression, frustration and bring a smile on their face."

"We also have daily workers who earn on per day basis so like how the CM has allowed construction workers, we want him to give us a little exception. As of now we are standing with him and after a day or two we will approach him and see what the conclusion will be. We will try to chalk out a plan how we can follow the guidelines with all security and if we can still shoot, we will make a bio bubble and then approach him," he added.
JD is a renowned actor and producer who has produced shows like Khichdi, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby.
