Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the countries are yet to open up for tourism. However, the Maldives is accepting guests from all around the world. The island is now becoming Bollywood's favourite vacation hotspot. Soon after the Government of Maharashtra announced a strict curfew in the state in the middle of the second wave of COVID-19, celebrities travelled out of the country to get their dose of vitamin sea and sunshine. From Disha Patani-Tiger Shroff to Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor, B-Town flocked to the Maldives to beat the summer heat.
Disha, who is vacationing with her rumoured boyfriend Tiger Shroff, set Instagram on fire with a picture in a burnt orange coloured fringed bikini. While fans of Disha couldn't stop admiring her beauty, some netizens lashed out at her for her irresponsible behaviour. They slammed Disha for going on a vacation when the country is going through a tough phase. Some netizens even called Disha and Tiger 'shameless' for turning a blind eye towards the grave situation.
One user wrote, "How can they leave country at this peak corona phase? How come Maldives taking Indian tourists despite knowing India detecting 2.5 lacs corona patients per day? How will Mumbai police allow them to come back without any restriction? Pathetic. Money speaks & common people suffer." The other said, "Just saw Tiger's story. He's asking everyone (I mean we aam admi) to understand the grievance of the situation and to stay at home while he's vacationing in the Maldives. It's not like they haven't been in a holiday for long, just 1-2 months back they were in Maldives and now when the situation is so bad they've again gone there. Hypocrisy sikhni ho toh film stars se sikho."
Another social media user added, "Common people searching injection , bed, oxygen cylinder suffering daily and here so called celebs enjoying maldives mela."
If the pandemic has taught us anything it's that celebrities are completely out of touch with reality and will show off their privileged lives while the rest of the world burns. https://t.co/D9rcHKB3pw

On the other hand, Alia and Ranbir also headed to the Maldives. The Brahmastra co-stars and real-life couple recently recovered from COVID-19. Netizens slammed Alia and Ranbir and said, "Inlogo ke liye no lockdown no corona, sb middle aur low class ke liye h." A user felt, "Shameless ppl. Country is facing such tough times. Instead of helping people vacation is important."
Apart from Disha-Tiger and Ranbir-Alia, Sara Ali Khan also jetted off to Goa with her mother Amrita Singh.
