India is currently facing one of the worst COVID-19 situations now with medical resources and infrastructure falling apart. The second wave is far deadlier than the first and our healthcare infrastructure is under a lot of pressure. Mumbai has been under a lockdown for more than two weeks now as the city continues to report a surge in COVID-19 cases. During the tough period, several celebrities have lent their helping hand forward.
Now, joining the bandwagon, actor Alia Bhatt shared on Instagram a piece of important information regarding the dark times. The actress started her initiative Circle Of Hope with journalist-friend Faye DSouza to amplify important COVID-19 related information for Indians.
"It is a time of great uncertainty. Infrastructure and information are the need of the hour. We are limited in terms of what we can do for infrastructure. But we can do our bit to identify and amplify relevant information. I'm happy to be working along with Faye D'Souza, who is helping us to identify the information and both of us will amplify in whatever best way we can. We hope this helps. Take care. Stay safe. #Circle0fHope," Alia wrote in her statement shared this morning on Instagram. Anita Shroff Adjania, Nitasha Gaurav, Huma Qureshi and Tahira Kashyap hailed the actress for her initiative.
Soon after, the actress shared a few helpline numbers for COVID-19 patients in Mumbai. Sharing the post, she wrote, "#Mumbai Important numbers, please save the relevant ones and do share this with people in need. #CircleOfHope *These numbers were verified on 25th April, 2021."
Alia was recently in the Maldives, vacationing with beau Ranbir Kapoor. The actors returned to Mumbai on Sunday night and were mercilessly trolled for holidaying amid the second wave of COVID-19 that is affecting the lives of many in their own county.
