Pooja Hegde and Guneet Monga test positive for COVID-19, under home quarantine


India is currently facing one of the worst COVID-19 situations now with medical resources and infrastructure falling apart. The second wave is far deadlier than the first and our healthcare infrastructure is under a lot of pressure. Mumbai has been under a lockdown for more than two weeks now as the city continues to report a surge in COVID-19 cases. In the past two months, several Bollywood and South celebrities have tested positive for COVID-19. Now, actress Pooja Hegde and filmmaker Guneet Monga have tested positive for Coronavirus. 

Taking to her official Twitter handle, Pooja posted a statement that read, "Hello everyone. This is to inform you all that I have tested positive for COVID-19 . Following all the protocols I have isolated, and home-quarantined myself". Further in her post, the Housefull 4 actor requested people who have come in contact with her recently to get tested for the virus. She also thanked her well-wishers for the love and support.

Film producer Guneet Monga, known for producing films like The Lunchbox and Pagglait, has also got diagnosed with the novel Coronavirus. Guneet shared in a statement that despite taking due care and all the necessary precautions, she has tested positive for COVID-19.  Sharing an Instagram post, she wrote that she took all the necessary precautions but despite that has tested positive for Covid-19. Currently, under self-quarantine, she is taking all the measures to fight the virus under the guidance of her doctor. She went on to say that she is recovering well, and also made a sincere request to anyone and everyone who had come in contact with her to get themselves tested.

In the past month, Aamir Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Manoj Bajpayee, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Bhumi Pednekar, Paresh Rawal, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Govinda and Akshay Kumar were among the few Bollywood celebs who tested positive for COVID-19.
