India is currently facing one of the worst COVID-19 situations now with medical resources and infrastructure falling apart. The second wave is far deadlier than the first and our healthcare infrastructure is under a lot of pressure.

Following the rise in COVID-19 cases in India, The Ministry of Tourism, Maldives, announced the suspension of flights from India in a tweet on Sunday. "With effect from 27 April @HPA_mv suspends tourists travelling from #India to #Maldives from staying at tourist facilities in inhabited islands. We thank you for the support in our endeavour to make tourism safest possible with minimum inconvenience," the tweet read.

Following the announcement, social media users flooded the internet with uploading memes about Bollywood celebrities. A lot of celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff recently visited the Maldives and were posting photos from the island nation when the country was reeling under the worst crisis.
