Deepika’s and Prabhas’ collaboration under the direction of Nag Ashwin was one of the biggest news that came out last year. The pan-Indian film is set in the futuristic timeline against the backdrop of World War and was reportedly set to on go on floors around the month of July. However, now the film which is being produced by Vyjayanthi Movies has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A source close to the development of the film told an online portal, “The current covid wave has taken a toll on the schedule of both Prabhas and Deepika, with their prior commitments getting delayed. Even Nag Ashwin is taking longer than expected to complete the prep work, and he doesn’t want to pace up the things just to take the film on floors. Hence, the team has now mutually decided to postpone it to the month of October.”

The source further added, “However, it all depends on the Covid scenario. While she is reading multiple scripts, there is nothing locked and signed at the moment to take off from July.” Meanwhile on the work front, Deepika has YRF’s Pathan opposite Shah Rukh Khan, Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and The Intern remake with Amitabh Bachchan as well as Madhu Mantena’s Draupadi in her bag. Taking into account her slew of films the source said, “All these films will take off only post October. She has the July to October window vacant and the attempts are being made to zero in on a film for this slot. There will be absolute clarity on the same by Mid of May.”
On the other hand, Prabhas will wrap shooting for Salaar and a major chunk of Adipurush, thereby giving his utmost attention to the film.
