Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 2- The Resumption starring Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil and others proved to be one of the best films to release on OTT this year. The Malayalam thriller released on Amazon Prime Video on February 19. Jeethu, the director of the Drishyam franchise, had confirmed that a Hindi remake of the second installment is on the cards. Now, Drishyam 2's Hindi remake has been officially announced.
In a statement by Panorama Studios International, it was informed that the studios has acquired the rights of the Hindi remake. It read, "Kumar Mangat Pathak & Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios International has acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Malayalam hit film Drishyam 2-The Resumption."

The statement had a quote from Kumar Mangat Pathak. It read, "With the huge success of Drishyam 2, the story needs to be told with passion and commitment and we as producers are committed to that."
"Talking about the acquisition of the film, Antony Perumbavoor, the producer of the Malayalam film, shared, "We are happy that Panorama Studios International has acquired the rights for Drishyam 2 and I am certain the Production house will justify the film." Jeethu Joseph, director of the original Malayalam Drishyam 2, commented, “The story of Drishyam 2 resonated with people and I am so glad that Panorama Studios will make it reach to a wider audience with the Hindi remake. I am looking forward to it.”," the statement read.
Jeethu's Malayalam film Drishyam (2013) got a Hindi remake in 2015 with Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav in the lead. Ajay played the role of Vijay Salgaonkar while Tabu was seen as IGl Meera Deshmukh. Late Nishikant Kamat had directed the Hindi remake which was produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajit Andhare and Abhishek Pathak.
