The Indian Premier League 2021 was one of the most-awaited events of the year. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, cricketers from different corners of the world united to keep fans engaged with thrilling face-offs. They were constantly kept in a bio-bubble and were tested for COVID-19 on regular basis. Now, the virus has hit IPL 2021 hard as multiple players have contracted COVID-19 despite being in a bubble.

In the statement, he said, "IPL has just been suspended, we will see whether we can reschedule it, it is not cancelled. It is just suspended for now."
