Deepika Padukone's father Prakash Padukone in hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, mother Ujjala and sister Anisha in home quarantine

India is experiencing a tough time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The second wave of Coronavirus is deadlier than the first one. Now, as the battle continues, Deepika Padukone's parents Prakash Padukone-Ujjala Padukone and younger sister Anisha Padukone have tested positive for COVID-19. 

Vimal Kumar, a friend of the legendary Indian badminton player and director at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy told a media agency, "Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive."

He further said that Prakash's fever didn't come down and was admitted to a hospital. "They got themselves isolated but after a week Prakash's fever didn't come down, so last Saturday, he was admitted to a hospital here in Bengaluru," Vimal added. 

Vimal informed that Ujjala and Anisha have home quarantined themselves. "He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days," he shared. 

Deepika and her husband Ranveer Singh reportedly jetted off to Bengaluru to be with the former's family.
