Vijay Deverakonda is celebrating his birthday today (May 9). The South heartthrob who shot to fame with Arjun Reddy (2017) will be showcasing a different avatar in Puri Jagannadh's pan-India film Liger. The film also stars Ananya Panday in the lead. Today, on the occasion of Vijay's birthday, the makers of Liger were all set to release the teaser of the film. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the team has decided to postpone the teaser release.
Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, in a statement, informed, "During these testing times, we hope you all are staying indoors and taking care of yourself and your loved ones. We were all geared up to reveal a power packed teaser for LIGER on 9th May. However, due to the current scenario and environment that our country is facing, we have decided to postpone the same in the hope to share it with the world at a better time for all of us."

They further said, "Having said that, we assure and guarantee that you will witness Vijay Deverakonda in a never seen before avatar and you will not be disappointed. Sit tight and until then we request all of you to stay safe, take care of all your dear ones, help each other and get vaccinated at the earliest. Take all the precautionary measures as prescribed by the medical fraternity and be sure that- we are all in this together."
The team concluded the note by saying, "See you soon at the theatres when we're healthy and strong as a country."
Liger also stars Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Aali and Getup Srinu. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The film is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar and Charmme Kaur. Ananya and Vijay's Liger will release in theatres across the globe on September 9 this year.
