Bhumi Pednekar thanks Kartik Aaryan for financial aid for her COVID-19 initiative; Farhan Akhtar donates food; Mika Singh organize langar in Mumbai

The second wave of Coronavirus has wreaked havoc in the country claiming countless lives and several people hospitalized. Amid the pandemic our Bollywood celebs are trying to help and reach out to people through their charities, different NGOs and campaigns. Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, Mika Singh and Farhan Akhtar have come forward to provide help and aid to Covid-19 victims and their families.

Bhumi Pednekar thanks Kartik Aaryan for helping save lives through generous donation

In an initiative by Bhumi Pednekar, Kartik Aaryan has donated twice helping save almost two lives, sharing the same Bhumi took to her social media thanking Kartik. Bhumi said, "We have reached our goal of 7 lakhs. Thank you @kartikaaryan for your generous contribution And all our other donors :) "

Determined to help, Kartik replied saying, "Thank you @bhumipednekar Lets help as many people as we can".

Bhumi had earlier taken to Twitter thanking Kartik for his donation that helped save a life. Kartik is amongst the most active celebrities to create awareness about the safety protocols of Covid-19. Through the lockdown, Kartik has been constantly striving to spread information about the virus and create awareness. The actor even started his talk show Koki Poochega last year to interact with covid warriors.

Mika Singh starts langar for 1000+ people in Mumbai

Mika Singh has been silently working for people amid the coronavirus pandemic since last year. He started his langar facility in Delhi last year where he ensured the free food supply to a thousand people on daily basis. This langar facility is still operational. And now, he has started the same initiative in Mumbai also. He will be arranging Langar for about thousand needy people on a daily basis in Mumbai from this week onwards.

Farhan Akhtar organizes food donation programme, distributing 1000 thalis daily

Away from the media limelight, Farhan continues to work with non-for-profit organisation, Hope For Welfare Trust. His donations are being used to feed patients and caregivers in distress. Diyanshu Upadhyay, secretary of the NGO shared that these donations are not only being used to feed the virus infected patients, but also the people working at Harishchandra and Manikarnika shamshan ghats in Varanasi. He shared, "Eight of us from the Hope team have been distributing 1000 thalis every day in the city. Each thali has rice, dal, roti, sabzi, salad and biscuits. If we distribute lunch to the hospitals during the day, at night, we focus on the cremation grounds. Farhan sir has always stood by us in our times of need, and we are grateful for his contribution this time."

The NGO secretary also shared that he reached out to Farhan through social media when the city saw a surge in Covid cases and the actor gave a prompt response, was ready to help. The NGO continues to do Covid- relief work, helping patients find oxygen cylinders, arranging medicines and other medical necessities in these times. The actor covertly and pro-actively has been contributing for the welfare and well-being of people in complete distress. Recently, he helped the National level boxer and NIS qualified coach who was struggling to make ends meet, return to coaching young boxing aspirants. Last year, he also distributed 1000 PPE kits for the Healthcare workers of government hospitals.
