Salman Khan has kept his promise of treating everyone to his film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai on the occasion of Eid (May 13) this year. Though most of the states in India are in lockdown due to rising COVID-19 cases, people will be able to watch the Prabhudeva actioner at home on the pay-per-view OTT platform, ZEEPlex. With just two days left for Radhe's release, Salman had an interaction with the media virtually. During the group interaction, the superstar said people can be entertained sitting at home at a much cheaper rate.
"I couldn’t have kept my Eid commitment with fans without the support of ZEE. It was important to release the film at a time like this because people are suffering due to the pandemic. Incomes have reduced for many, so now, instead of spending a lot of money on tickets at the cinemas, people can watch it at a much cheaper rate at home. I want to provide some entertainment to people at a grim time like this," Salman told.
He apologised to cinema owners who were hoping to earn profits with Radhe's release after a long and dry spell due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "I apologise to cinema owners who were hoping to earn profits with the release of this film. We waited as long as we could, hoping that this pandemic would end and we would be able to release in theatres all over the country. But that did not happen. We don’t know when things will go back to normal," Salman said.
He further said that the box office collection of Radhe will be zero as it will be releasing in limited theatres in India. "The box office collection of Radhe will be zero, this will be the lowest ever for a Salman Khan film. Let people be happy or sad with that. It is releasing in very few cinemas in India, overseas also the number of theatres are less than usual. So the box office collection will be very poor," Salman added.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is presented by Salman Khan Films in association with ZEE Studios, produced By Salma Khan, Sohail Khan and Reel Life Production Private Limited. The film also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff.
