Salman Khan dismisses claims of Radhe's drug angle based on NCB's probe in Bollywood Drug Scandal

Salman Khan played the role of an undercover investigator in Wanted (2009). Now, 12 years later, he is returning as Radhe, an encounter specialist in Prabhudeva's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. In the actioner, Salman takes it upon himself to 'clean' the city infested by a drug cartel operated by Randeep Hooda. While the film addresses the topic of the drug mafia, the Narcotics Control Bureau in Mumbai has been digging deep into an alleged drugs racket in Bollywood.

During an interaction with the media, Salman clarified that the shoot of Radhe was completed much before the NCB's investigation started. He also said that the problem of drugs has been prevalent for a long time. He said, “It has been a problem for a long time. Even before this drugs investigation took over Maharashtra, we had already completed shooting the film. But now it became relevant. I have always been against drugs. Here, people are misusing it. We have nieces and nephews who are very young and might get influenced.”

Salman even emphasized that drugs have been an issue for a long time and he is himself against consuming them and said, "As soon as you take it (drugs), you are done...your body and mind both will want it so you will have to be ten times stronger. But most of them don't have that in them to do that. Families go through problems, then siblings go through problems. So in Radhe we have touched upon this subject...a man who goes on to clean up the city."

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is presented by Salman Khan Films in association with ZEE Studios, produced By Salma Khan, Sohail Khan and Reel Life Production Private Limited. The film also stars Disha Patani and Jackie Shroff. It will release on ZEEPlex and in limited theatres on May 13.
