Cyclone Tauktae: Amitabh Bachchan reveals his Janak office was flooded; Raveena Tandon shares pictures of uprooted tree in her compound

Hailed as an "extremely severe cyclonic storm", the cyclone named Tauktae, brought with it wind speeds, heavy rains and destruction in Maharashtra and Gujarat on Sunday and Monday. The states were put on high alert as the cyclone was making landfall. Incidents of trees uprooting, damage to property and electrical poles collapsing were reported.

Amitabh Bachchan, in his blog, revealed that his office in his bungalow Janak was flooded and staff shelter blew away due to cyclone Tauktae. "There is an eerie silence in the midst of the Cyclone. The pounding and the lashing rains all day. Trees fell, leakages all over, flooding in the vulnerable Janak Office. Impromptu plastic cover sheets still in prep for the heavy Monsoon rain, ripped apart. Sheds and shelters for some staff blown away," he wrote.

He further added that he provided clothes to the staff members who got wet while fixing the damages. "All hands on deck. Stepping out, repairing, preventing helping in extenuating circumstances drenched, but on it. Staff simply amazing in such conditions. Their uniforms wet and dripping but they continue. Gave them dress changes urgently in this strife, from my own wardrobe and now they proudly move about as Chelsea and Jaipur Pink Panther supporters .. !!! in their team shirts and T’s. Some afloat in them and some squeezing their shape into them," he added.

On the other hand, Raveena Tandon shared pictures of the damage caused by cyclone Tauktae. Due to the cyclone, a tree in her compound had collapsed and had fallen on top of a temple. She shared the pictures on her Instagram stories.

Bhumi Pednekar tweeted, "Spent my day- 1.Cleaning my flooded home coz living by the sea isn’t fun with cyclonic winds, rain & a half renovated home. 2.Panicking every time the wifi crashed & a plant of ours flew off our balcony :( 3.Hoping ppl understand- Climate Change Is Real."
