Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol said that Hema Malini has had a ‘really great career’. He added that he has watched ‘one or two’ of her films and finds her to be ‘really brilliant’ at her craft. For the unversed, Karan is Dharmendra's grandson
In an interview with a leading daily, Karan said about Hema, “She has had a very brilliant career from start to finish, very prestigious.” On being asked if he has watched any of her films, he said, “Yes, I have seen one or two. She has had a really great career and from whatever I have seen, she is a really brilliant actress.”
Known for her work in Hindi films, Hema Malini is considered as one of the most successful actresses in the history of Indian cinema. Hema made her acting debut in 1963 with the Tamil film Idhu Sathiyam. She first acted in the main role in Sapno Ka Saudagar (1968) and went on to feature in numerous Bollywood films, frequently opposite Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna and Dev Anand. Hema was initially promoted as the Dream Girl, and in 1977 starred in a film of the same name. Known for starring in both comic and dramatic roles, she was one of the highest-paid Indian actresses from 1976 to 1980.
In 2019, Karan made his Bollywood debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, directed by Sunny Deol. His next project is Apne 2, in which he will star alongside Sunny, Dharmendra and Bobby Deol.
