Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan are considered to be the finest writers Bollywood ever produced. They worked together as Salim-Javed in the '70s and early '80s. Before their split, the writers worked on films like Haathi Mere Saathi (1971), Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Sholay (1975) and of course Don (1978) to name a few. They are still remembered for their iconic work in the golden years of cinema.
Now, several years after their split, a film is being made on their journey as Bollywood's iconic writer-duo. The film, which is said to get a direct web release, will be directed by none other than Javed sahab's daughter Zoya Akhtar. Hailed as one of Bollywood's finest filmmakers, Zoya has been working on the biopic for the last 2 years silently. Sources claim that she was planning to make a biopic for the big screen but throughout the lockdown, she realised it is best suited for the digital medium.
