Netizens call Randeep Hooda 'casteist' and 'sexist' for a joke against former UP CM Mayawati in old video

Randeep Hooda has courted controversy after an old video of him went viral on social media recently. The actor, who was recently seen in Salman Khan's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, was called out by netizens for making a sexist and casteist joke on former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

In the throwback video, which belongs to a chat show, Randeep talked about a ‘dirty joke’ and mocked Mayawati, who is one of the notable Dalit leaders of the country. Netizens slammed Randeep for being 'casteist', 'sexist' and 'misogynist'. A user shared the video and wrote, "if this does not explain how casteist and sexist this society is, especially towards dalit women, i don’t know what will. the “joke”, the audacity, the crowd. randeep hooda, top bollywood actor talking about a dalit woman, who has been the voice of the oppressed."

Netizens want Randeep to be arrested. A user said, "The man earlier was held in high respect. But he is so deeply inhuman,sexist and of course casteist. The man must be taken to task." Another person tweeted, "Dear @RandeepHooda, Be a so-called "Man". Surrender yourself to @MumbaiPolice for your wrongdoings/ act. I can explain the offence wrt to penal sections if you want. Else, lawfully you will be required to go to prison anyway. Take Care."

Randeep is yet to react to the controversy.
