Legendary actress Sridevi was more than just a mother to Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. The Chandni of Bollywood was eagerly waiting for her elder daughter Janhvi's debut film Dhadak and would be with her on the sets too. However, the dream remained unfulfilled as Sridevi lost her life just a few months before Dhadak's release. Janhvi, who is sorely missing her mother's warmth, is keeping her legacy alive by remembering her advice.
In a recent interview with a magazine, Janhvi revealed who inspires her the most and shared what her mother had told her. "Just powerful women around me. From my peers, Alia (Bhatt), Sara (Ali Khan) to Beyoncé to even my sister, it is inspiring to see women who embrace themselves and don’t depend on anyone for anything. It’s exactly what my mother also told me. 'Never depend on anyone, and make your own identity'," Janhvi said.
Janhvi further spoke about dealing with the pressure of taking Sridevi's legacy forward. "It’s not a pressure, but a responsibility, and I am happy about it. Being my mother’s daughter has opened up many doors for me and given me a lot of love that maybe I haven’t been so deserving of. The flip side is that people have high expectations from me, but I understand that too. And I am happy about it because if I have to be compared, why not be compared with the best," the actress added.
Janhvi's last film was Roohi which released in theatres. She wrapped the shoot of Good Lucky Jerry in Punjab in March. Janhvi also has films like Dostana 2, Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Helen and Takht.
