The shoot of Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi was stalled due to the second wave of COVID-19. Now, as the Government of Maharashtra will be unlocking the state gradually, the team of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial will return to work. According to reports, the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi will resume on June 15. As per a leading daily's report, Alia, who plays the titular role, will return with a Garba song.
According to the leading daily, the Garba song will be choreographed by National Award-winner Kruti Mahesh. It will feature 12 dancers, a mix of boys and girls. The traditional Gujarati song will be set in the interiors of Gujarat, as per the report. President of the Cine Dancers Association, Zahid Shaikh confirmed the same and told the daily, "There are nine girls and four boys required for the dance sequence which will start on June 15 in Film City studio."
Zahid said usually 50 to 200 dancers are required for a Bhansali film but due to the pandemic, the number has come down. "Considering the present scenario, they have kept it limited to adhere to the guidelines issued by the government," Zahid added.
Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Ajay Devgn.
