Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi is one of the most anticipated films. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Alia plays the titular role in the film. Now, as per media reports the film’s shooting resumed from Thursday in Mumbai’s Film City. Reportedly, only 2-3 days of patchwork is remaining for the film to wrap and hence the cast and crew are eager to complete the film’s shoot.
The film’s girl gang sequence is being shot as well as some romantic scenes between Alia and Shantanu Maheshwari. Alia will be seen sporting two different looks in the film as she ages from 15 years to a much older woman. Two sets have been erected to depict the film’s different timelines.
Gangubai Kathiawadi’s shoot was halted due to Alia and Bhansali falling ill due to COVID-19. The actress was supposed to resume shoot after recovery but there was a fresh lockdown in place after the second wave of coronavirus pandemic hit and hence the shoot for Gangubai Kathiawadi was halted in April. However, now the film has resumed its shooting schedule and will be completed in a day or two.
Gangubai Kathiawadi was slated to release on July 30. However, given the delay in wrapping the film, the makers of the film are reportedly looking at rescheduling the film’s release plan.
