'Dilip Kumar in hospital due to medical issues frequently expected in a 98-year-old,' says actor's family friend Faisal Farooqui

Dilip Kumar was admitted to Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital on Tuesday after he complained of breathlessness. A hospital source told a leading daily that he is under observation in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Now, on Wednesday night, Dilip Sahab's family friend, Faisal Farooqui, tweeted from the veteran actor's Twitter handle and gave an update on his health.

Faisal wrote that Dilip Sahab has been admitted to the hospital to address medical issues that are 'frequently expected in a 98-year-old'. "Dilip Saab has been admitted to Hinduja Hospital, Khar to address medical issues related to illness which are frequently expected in a 98-year-old. Your love and prayers are truly appreciated by Saab- Faisal Farooqui," he tweeted.

On June 6, Dilip Sahab was shifted to the same hospital for breathlessness. He was diagnosed with "bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation". A pleural aspiration procedure was performed on the actor and after that, he was discharged on June 11.
