Karan Johar returns to the director’s chair after 5 years, to announce a romantic film on July 6, 2020

Since 1998, Karan Johar has been spreading love, redefining friendship and gave us some unforgettable ensemble family melodrama. An acclaimed producer, Karan is also a director and actor who has won hearts with some wonderful films. While he continues backing great stories, the filmmaker is finally returning to the director's chair after 5 long years. Karan's last directorial was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Karan, sharing a video on social media, announced his return as a director. In the video, he informed that a romantic film will be announced on July 6 at 11 am. "This is the beginning of a new journey & my way back home - all at once. It's time to go back to my favourite place, it's time to create some eternal love stories from behind the lens. A very special story, truly immersed in the roots of love and family," the caption read.

Workwise, Karan is producing films like Sooryavanshi, Brahmastra, Dostana 2, Sher Shaah, Liger, and a film on Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair titled The Untold Story of C. Sankaran Nair.
