Dilip Kumar, 98, passed away at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital this morning at 7.30 am. He was admitted after complaining of breathlessness since last week. Soon after the news of his demise broke, Bollywood celebrities like Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur, Kartik Aaryan and others offered condolences.
Shahid wrote, "We are all nothing but versions of you Dilip Saab. Every actor has studied you in awe. Wondering how you did it all. You were as close to PERFECT as it can get. As you return to your spiritual home. The prayers of millions are with you. Thank you for giving us all you did. And sharing your enlightened soul with us through all your breathtaking performances. You will live on forever sir. You are TIMELESS. Rest in peace."
Ishaan wrote, "Meri sabse badi tamanna thi ki main kisi din aapke chehre pe shayad chhoti si muskurahat laa sakoon. Aapne mujhe naa jaante hue bhi itni taaleem di. Rest in eternal peace Dilip saab. There will never be another. Thank you for BEING the light."
Mrunal Thakur wrote, "Dilip Sahab, you have not just inspired every person to follow their dreams but have contributed to Indian cinema like no one else has. I have grown up watching and studying your films and it’s unreal how all your films have been iconic! Dilip ji, today is a sad day for the industry but we will remember you for everything you are and have been. Sending love and strength to your beautiful family. May your soul rest in peace."
