PeepingMoon.com has exclusively informed its readers on May 20 that Kriti Sanon's much-awaited film Mimi is taking the digital route along with a few more Bollywood films. While the release date is yet to be announced, the makers of the film unveiled Kriti's first look from Mimi.
Sharing her first look, Kriti wrote, "This July, expect the extraordinary from the ordinary! Stay tuned." In a motion poster, a question mark takes the shape of Kriti's baby bump indicating that the audience is in for a fun yet emotional ride.
The shoot of Mimi was wrapped in March 2020. Kriti had to gain extra kilos to fit into the role of a pregnant woman. Mimi is directed by Laxman Utekar, who also directed Kriti in Luka Chuppi. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films.
Mimi is based on the Marathi film Mala Aai Vahhaychy! starring Urmila Kanitkar in the lead role. Apart from Kriti, Mimi stars Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak. Speaking of Mala Aai Vhhaychy, the film was released in 2011 and went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi. It was written, directed and produced by Samruddhi Porey, an advocate.
