Randhir Kapoor lit up the internet today when he confirmed that Kareena Kapoor Khan’s and Saif Ali Khan’s younger son has been named Jeh. The couple, who announced the pregnancy in August last year, welcomed their baby boy on February 21. Randhir told a news agency, “Yes, Kareena and Saif’s son has been named Jeh recently. We finalized it about a week ago."
Kareena and Saif are also parents to son Taimur, who was born on December 20, 2016. The little boy has been a darling of the paparazzi ever since his birth. However, his name created a scandal with many netizens taking offence with the origins of the name and alluded it to invader Timur, whereas the toddler’s name means ‘iron’.
According to reports, Jeh in Latin means ‘blue crested bird’ whereas it also has Parsi origins and means ‘To come, to bring’. Kareena and Saif took time to name their son the second time around. However, they have always maintained that Taimur means ‘iron’ and that’s what attracted Kareena to this name. The actress said she wanted her son to be a strong man. She also revealed that Saif wanted to name their first born as ‘Faiz’ as it had poetic connotations.
Besides Taimur and Jeh, Saif also has two older children that he shares with ex-wife Amrita Singh - actor-daughter Sara Ali Khan, 25, and son Ibrahim Ali Khan, 20.
