Akshay Kumar leaves no stone unturned to make every role perfect. Be it getting the physical transformation right or perfecting a particular dialect that is required for a character, he does it easily. While his fans are in awe of his dedication towards his craft, Akshay has once again made their jaws drop. The Bollywood superstar is currently shooting for Aanand L. Rai's Raksha Bandhan. He plays a character from Delhi in the film and to look the part, Akshay had to gain 5 kilos.
Known for his fitness and discipline, Akshay has gained some extra kilos for Raksha Bandhan in a natural way. In a statement, Akshay spoke about his physical transformation. He told, "I quite enjoy the process of losing or gaining weight for a character because I am able to do it in a healthy way. I have gained 5 kg in a totally natural process. And it also allowed me the rare indulgence of eating meri maa ke haath ka halwa. What a blessing!"
Akshay, who is setting the standard for fitness high in India, had to lose 6 kilos for Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi in which he plays a cop. The film is yet to get a release date. It was scheduled to release in March last year but got affected due to the pandemic.
Speaking of Raksha Bandhan, Akshay dedicated the film to his sister Alka Hiranandani. The film co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, Sadia Khateeb, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth and Sahejmeen Kaur is presented by Akshay Kumar's sister, Alka and Aanand L Rai. It is backed by Colour Yellow Productions in association with Cape of Good Films. Kanika Dhillon and her husband Himanshu Sharma are the writers.
