On the intervening night of July 11 and 12, Dharamshala experienced heavy and continuous rainfall leading to destruction. A cloudburst that occurred over Dharamshala triggered flash floods in the area. Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh was affected by the flash floods. The public properties in Bhagsu village were also damaged by the natural disaster. Now, reports are coming in that the body of Punjabi singer Manmeet Singh has been discovered from the Kareri lake area in Kangra district.
One of the singers of the Sain Brothers, Manmeet was reportedly in Dharamshala with some of his friends. He was a Sufi singer. According to reports, Manmeet and his friends went to Kareri from Dharamsala. It is believed that due to torrential rains, he slipped and fell into the Kareri lake. As per a leading daily's report, Vimukt Ranjan, who is the senior superintendent of police, Kangra, told that Manmeet went missing on July 12.
Kewal Singh Pathania, HPCC general secretary and Congress leader from Shahpur, told a daily that locals helped retrieve the body of Manmeet.
Manmeet's body was sent to Amritsar. Reportedly, after the news of the accident was confirmed, the Sufi singer's family members reach the spot immediately.
