Legendary actress Surekha Sikri passed away in Mumbai on Friday (July 16) leaving behind a deep void in the hearts of Hindi film fraternity and her countless fans. Tributes poured in for the veteran actress from celebs as well as netizens who celebrated her phenomenal acting and stage presence. Among the tributes, Amul also paid homage to Surekha ji with their topical advertisement.
Taking to social media the dairy brand shared a topical ad featuring the three-time National Film Award winner’s achievements. It shared three images of Surekha’s cartoon in her iconic roles from television serial Balika Vadhu and film Badhaai Ho.

Surekha ji was ailing for a long time and had suffered two brain strokes in 2018 and 2020. She passed away on Friday after suffering a cardiac arrest. She made her debut with 1978 political drama film Kissa Kursi Ka and played author-backed roles in films and television. She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress thrice for films including Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhaai Ho (2018).
