Vijay Devarakonda is all set to make his grand Bollywood debut with Liger directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Dharma Productions. He will be seen as kickboxer opposite Ananya Panday and has completed most of the shoot of the film. Now, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who happened to see a few sections of the film has been left awestruck with Vijay’s performance.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Varma lavished high praise on Vijay and wrote, “The SCREEN PRESENCE of @TheDeverakonda in LIGER Is GREATER than any STAR i have seen in the last 2 DECADES..Thank you #PuriJagan and @Charmmeofficial for bringing it out ????". He also gave credit to Jagannadh and producer Charmme Kaur for getting Vijay to break his chocolate boy image.

Liger, as an animal is a cross between a lion and a tigress and alluding to this fact, Varma called Vijay as a cross between Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja and Tiger Shroff.
The film will be simultaneously released in Hindi and Telugu along with the dubbed versions in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages. It is slated to release on September 9, 2021.
