On July 18, PeepingMoon.com had exclusively informed its readers that one of the biggest Telugu film production company, Vyjayanthi Films, credited with producing some of the most iconic films in Telugu cinema history, will announce its biggest movie ever. The huge budget multilingual movie is its 50th-anniversary special venture. Soon after, the announcement was made with Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starring as the lead pair in Nag Ashwin's sci-fi drama. Soon, adding to the excitement, the makers announced that legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan also joined the film. The film will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nag Ashwin.
Now, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan's sci-fi thriller tentatively titled 'Project K' has gone on floors. Prabhas revealed the big news by sharing the film's clap board shot on Instagram. The actor captioned it as, "On this #GuruPurnima, it is an honour for me to Clap for the Guru of Indian cinema!… it now begins!! #ProjectK @amitabhbachchan @deepikapadukone @nag_ashwin @vyjayanthimovies"
Nag Ashwin was supposed to begin the shooting of his big-budget film in March 2021. However, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, they had to change the shooting schedule accordingly.
It is being said that Big B, Deepika and Prabhas will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in the film. The project will be a futuristic sci-fi thriller set against the backdrop of an imaginary third world war. Nag Ashwin, in the past, confirmed that the project will not be pan-India but pan-world.
