After heard Israel's national anthem at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics, netizens in India remembered veteran music composer Anu Malik. Why? Because people realised that the country's national anthem, Hatikvah, sounded similar to Ajay Devgn's film Diljale's song Mera Mulk Mera Desh. The Hatikvah was played after Artem Dolgopyat won Isreal's first Olympics gymnastics gold.
Soon after, netizens accused Anu of plagiarising the tune of Israel's national anthem for Mera Mulk Mera Desh. The song for Diljale was composed by him and sung by Kumar Sanu. One user tweeted, "There needs to be separate investigation done on #AnuMalik songs. How many country's National Anthems were plagiarized by Anu Malik." Another person said, "It took 25 years and Olympic gold to realise That Anu Malik copy "Mera Mulk Mera Desh"."
