A leading daily's report stated that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer, who was lauded for stopping Salman Khan at the airport for a mandatory security check, was punished by the body for breaching protocol by talking to media about the incident. A CISF personnel was also quoted in the report. However, it seems the personnel shared incorrect information.
After the news of CISF seizing the mobile phone of ASI Somnath Mohanty made headlines, the body issued a tweet clarifying the whole incident. The tweet stated that Mohanty wasn't punished but rewarded for his 'exemplary professionalism'. "The contents of this tweet are incorrect & without factual basis. In fact, the officer concerned has been suitably rewarded for exemplary professionalism in the discharge of his duty," the tweet read.

Salman was at the airport on August 20 as he flew to Russia with Katrina Kaif for the shooting for Tiger 3. Soon after videos and pictures from the airport went viral, netizens hailed Mohanty for putting his duty first and stopping Salman for a mandatory security check.
