Bollywood filmmakers are currently fascinated with remakes. A majority of them are remakes of South films and stories are modified for the Hindi audience's sensibilities. In February this year, director Umesh Shukla had announced that he will be writing the Hindi version of the Tamil film Oh My Kadavule starring Ashok Selvan, Ritika Singh and Vijay Sethupathi. Ashwath Marimuthu, who helmed the original, will be directing the remake too. Back then, the cast of the film wasn't announced.
But now, Oh My Kadavule's Hindi remake has almost got its cast in place. Sources say that Meezaan has been locked to play the lead role in the remake of the romantic fantasy film. Not just this, Abhishek Bachchan and Shalini Pandey have been approached for the film too. Reportedly, work on the Hindi remake is still going on and it is likely to go on floors by the end of September.
Workwise, Abhishek has reportedly started shooting for the Hindi remake of the Tamil National Award-winning film Oththa Seruppu Size 7 in Chennai. The actor has films like Bob Biswas and Dasvi in the pipeline. Meezaan was last seen in Hungama 2. Shalini will be seen opposite Ranveer Singh in YRF's Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
The Hindi remake of Oh My Kadavule will be produced by Parag Desai.
