I would probably change the way I said something: Ananya Panday reacts to Siddhant Chaturvedi's 'struggle' comment for her

In January 2020, right before the outbreak of COVID-19, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria, Abhimanyu Dassani, Vishal Jethwa, Saloni Batra and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan united for a roundtable interaction. Ananya went on to say that she is proud of her father Chunky Panday for the efforts he has been putting in over the years and also said he hasn't been to Dharma Productions' office nor participated in Koffee With Karan. Soon after Ananya said this, Siddhant, who was seated right next to her, stated, "Jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahi inka struggle shuru hota hai."

Siddhant's statement was appreciated by fans and by those who are against the alleged term, "Nepotism". The next few weeks were all about memes and sly digs at Ananya. Now, 1 and a half years later, Ananya finally reacted to Siddhant's statement. During her appearance on a chat show, the actress told, "Basically, I agree. But also I think that Sid and I were kind of saying the same thing. Sometimes, in interviews, as you can see, I'm very overwhelmed. If I had to go back, I would probably change the way I said something."

She further said that Siddhant is her close friend and he never meant to take a dig at her. "We were laughing about it later. Sid and I are really close. We have no weird thing about this. People made it something bigger and it became meme-worthy. Genuinely my intention wasn't like what came across," Ananya added.

Ananya and Siddhant will be seen together in Shakun Batra's relationship drama that also stars Deepika Padukone and Dhairya Karwa. Reportedly, the actors will headline a film produced by Zoya Akhtar with Adarsh Gourav.
