Akshay Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia passed away this morning, the actor informed on social media. Aruna Bhatia was taken critically ill recently and was admitted to the ICU of Hiranandani Hospital in Powai, Mumbai. The alarming news had brought Akshay back to Mumbai leaving his shooting schedule in London for Ranjit Tewari’s psychological thriller Cinderella for the time being. However, the actor lost his mother this morning.
Taking to Instagram, Akshay wrote, "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti."
Last evening, Akshay had expressed gratitude towards all his fans for praying for his mother's speedy recovery. The actor penned a note which read, "Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help.”
