In 2019, the UAE government had implemented a new system for long-term residence visas, enabling foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without the need of a national sponsor. These Golden Visas are issued for 5 or 10 years and will be renewed automatically.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, had initiated this step in order to keep the ‘great minds’ in the Gulf country to further its progress.
